The Institute carried out a number of projects. Dr. Post completed a book on behalf of the Institute that bears its name: Pure Unlimited Love: Science and the Seven Paths to Inner Peace. This will be available in early November, and the focus of a conference with Harvard Universitys Mind- Body Medicine Center. This book faithfully present the seven core areas of Institute research and scholarship as identified at its founding as approved by Sir John Marks Templeton, its initial major donor. In addition, the Institute is conducting a scholarly project on The Love of Nature and the Nature of Love, including a small conference planned for June 2-5 in Oxford to launch a new edited Institute book by that title, with the immense effort of the distinguished Institute board member Dr. Thomas J. Oord, who has been recognized as one of the five most influential theologians of today. In collaboration with the Duke Universitys Center for Spirituality and Health we are also supporting as co-sponsors conference on the Love of the Child. This harkens back to a three-year project we convened at Emory University a decade ago which yielded many books including The Best Love of the Child: Being Loved and Being Taught to Love as the First Human Right. This book, edited by the renowned theological ethicist Dr. Timothy P. Jackson, and many other thought leaders representing the Abrahamic traditions. Dr. Post presented on over 20 national podcasts on love for children with autism and for deeply forgetful people with dementia. His book on this topic has been very widely discussed and influential among caregivers across the US. The Institute has succeeded now for 25 years only because it has not strayed from its thematic mission. We convened a board meeting in Cleveland on July 10, 2025, and discussed various projects, including providing support for the love of nature project, and support for the Buddhist Victor Chan, who is finishing the official narrative of his 40-years with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Dr. Matthew T. Lee has continued sociological work on love in relation to human flourishing, and has been highly productive.
