CANCER SERVICES OF NORTHEAST INDIANA PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO NORTHEAST INDIANA FAMILIES AFFECTED BY CANCER. FAMILIES RECEIVE PRACTICAL HELP, TANGIBLE RESOURCES, AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. IN 2024, CANCER SERVICES HELPED 5,036 INDIVIDUALS. PRACTICAL HELP SUPPORTS THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF PEOPLE AS THEY UNDERGO CANCER TREATMENT OR RECOVER FROM SURGERY. IN 2024, 262,738 WORTH OF PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE ITEMS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO FAMILIES. THIS INCLUDED 1,383 PIECES OF LOANED DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, 949 WIGS AND HEAD COVERINGS, AND 43,026 ITEMS OF PERSONAL CARE SUPPLIES. ELIGIBLE FAMILIES ALSO RECEIVED 148,210 IN DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP WITH CANCER- RELATED MEDICAL COSTS. PROFESSIONAL STAFF PROVIDE INFORMATION, REFERRALS, AND PERSONALIZED ADVOCACY REGARDING CANCER, EMPLOYMENT, AND FINANCIAL MATTERS. ADVOCATES INTERACTED WITH THEIR CLIENTS 19,133 TIMES IN 2024. LICENSED COUNSELORS HELPED 141 PEOPLE AFFECTED BY CANCER PROCESS AND ADDRESS THEIR FEELINGS DURING 779 MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING SESSIONS. ADDITIONALLY, 91 PEOPLE BENEFITED FROM PERSONALIZED NUTRITION CONSULTATIONS WITH A REGISTERED DIETITIAN. CANCER SERVICES OFFERS MASSAGES, SUPPORT COMMUNITIES, MOVEMENT CLASSES, AND CREATIVE WORKSHOPS TO SUPPORT PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SOCIAL WELLNESS. IN 2024, CLIENTS AND CAREGIVERS RELAXED DURING 2,005 MASSAGE AND WELLNESS THERAPY SESSIONS. PEOPLE AFFECTED BY CANCER VISITED CANCER SERVICES LOCATIONS 3,201 TIMES TO ATTEND SUPPORT GROUPS AND EXERCISE CLASSES.
