MINISTERING TO THE NEEDS OF THE ELDERLY BY MANAGING THE 166 LOW INCOME SENIOR APARTMENTS PROVIDES PRIME MINISTRIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO DIRECTLY MEET THE NEEDS OF SENIOR ADULTS WITH A PHYSICAL PLACE TO LIVE THAT IS SAFE, CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND AFFORDABLE. THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS TO PROVIDE A CLEAN, SAFE AND COMFORTABLE LIVING ENVIRONMENT THAT ALLOWS RESIDENTS TO AGE IN PLACE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT HAVING TO MOVE TO A CARE FACILITY. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED FIRST WITH THE ONSITE STAFF AND CONTRACTED LABOR THAT MAINTAINS THE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS TO A HIGH LIVING STANDARD. NEXT, THE STAFF COMMUNITY COORDINATOR MEETS WITH EACH RESIDENT TO ASSURE THEY HAVE ACCESS TO ALL AVAILABLE OUTSIDE SERVICES TO MEET THEIR INDIVIDUALIZED NEEDS. SERVICES SUCH AS VISITING NURSES, MEALS ON WHEELS, HOUSEKEEPING AND SOCIAL WORKERS REGULARLY VISIT EACH SITE, FREE TRANSPORTATION IS PROVIDED OR ARRANGED FOR TO LOCAL SHOPPING TO ALLOW RESIDENTS TO REMAIN INDEPENDENT, AND FINALLY THERE ARE COMMUNITY EVENTS PLANNED THAT BRING THE RESIDENTS TOGETHER FOR SOCIAL INTERACTION AND SUPPORT.
