Bible Publishing The purpose of Crossway's Bible Department is to create outstanding Bibles and Bible resources that bear witness to the gospel and the truth of God's word in all of life, and that serve the needs of the global church; see the Lord's gracious provision in our work; and give honor and glory to the Lord. The ESV Bible (English Standard Version) is an "essentially literal" translation of the Bible in contemporary English. Created by a team of more than 100 leading evangelical scholars and pastors, the ESV Bible emphasizes "word-for-word" accuracy, literary excellence, and depth of meaning. It is available in hundreds of print editions and free online via mobile app (iOS and Android) and at ESV.org. Since its publication in 2001, the ESV has gained wide acceptance and is used by church leaders, numerous denominations and organizations, and millions of individuals around the world. Crossway offers the ESV Bible for free online and via mobile apps, with tens of millions of users from nearly every country. The ESV Study Bible, with twenty thousand notes and two million words in over 2,700 pages, became a bestselling Bible and was the first Bible to be named the "Christian Book of the Year" by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. The ESV Bible and ESV Study Bible notes have been translated into more than 50 languages. Crossway has distributed hundreds of thousands of ESV Bibles and books to pastors, teachers, students, missionaries, and ministry leaders across the globe, equipping them to learn and share God's Word.

Book Publishing Our book department promotes and publishes the greatest news in the world through the medium of printed and digital books. Crossway has become a leading publisher of evangelical Christian books focused on proclaiming the gospel and applying God's word to every area of life. We have sought to describe our contribution to the larger world of Christian publishing as "gospel-centered publishing," which means that our goals, content, and manner will have a distinctive gospel flavor and ethos, as we seek to view everything through the cross-work of Christ and his lordship over all things. Each year, Crossway distributes free books to a variety of ministries in the United States and overseas, in addition to funding book translation, printing, and distribution assistance.

Tract Publishing and Other Program Services Crossway is committed to distributing resources that equip the global church for ministry and providing God's word to people around the world. One way we accomplish this is through the production and distribution of tracts to ministries and churches around the world. Crossway has also been at the forefront of digital media and technology in Christian publishing. The ESV Bible was originally published simultaneously in both print and digital formats, and is widely recognized today for its ongoing mobile app development and availability worldwide via ESV.org. Crossway continues to develop innovative, gospel-centered app content, as well as audiobooks, ebooks, and videos that honor God and serve his church.
