Our impact is felt every day when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child, and when a community comes together for a common good. As one of the oldest, largest, and most established nonprofit organizations in Chicago, the YMCA works to strengthen neighborhoods by responding to the unique needs of each community. * In 2023, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago provided $652,296 in membership and program financial assistance, such as day camp, swim lessons, childcare, mentorship, and more, to individuals and families who qualify. Additionally, the YMCA served more than 300,000 individuals across our programs, services, events, and offerings, including the following data points: * 46,000 individuals benefitted from health & wellbeing services * 475 youth participated in early learning programs across our communities * 447 youth benefited from youth programs: o 173 through teen learning & workforce programs, and o 274 through the Youth Safety & Violence Prevention program * 1,836 family members, friends, and group members partook in Y Family Camp * 8,366 youth benefitted from before- and after-school enrichment programming at 14 sites * 3,949 youth experienced sports and fitness programs * 3,028 youth learned critical swim skills * 4,704 youth attended camp across 15 locations across Chicagoland
