NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS 22,574 INDIVIDUALS REACHED 1,901 NEIGHBORS VOLUNTEERED OVER 76,000 HOURS THE PEOPLE'S RESOURCE CENTER COMMUNITY EXISTS TO RESPOND TO BASIC HUMAN NEEDS, PROMOTE DIGNITY AND JUSTICE, AND CREATE A FUTURE OF HOPE AND OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RESIDENTS OF DUPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS. PEOPLE'S RESOURCE CENTER (PRC) WAS FOUNDED IN 1975 BY NEIGHBORS IN WHEATON, IL, WHO BEGAN DISTRIBUTING GROCERIES TO ADDRESS HUNGER IN THEIR COMMUNITY. TODAY, PRC SERVES MORE THAN 7,000 FAMILIES ACROSS DUPAGE COUNTY EACH YEAR AS A TRUSTED, SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATION. ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT NO COST TO DUPAGE COUNTY RESIDENTS AND ARE MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH COMMUNITY GENEROSITY AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT. ESSENTIAL SERVICES INCLUDE FOOD PANTRIES OFFERING STAPLE GOODS, FRESH PRODUCE, LEAN PROTEINS, DAIRY, AND HOUSEHOLD NECESSITIES THROUGH IN-PERSON, CURBSIDE, AND DELIVERY OPTIONS. ADDITIONAL SUPPORTS INCLUDE CLOTHING, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, RENT AND MORTGAGE HELP, AND SOCIAL SERVICE REFERRALS. BEYOND IMMEDIATE NEEDS, PRC PROVIDES EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS THAT HELP NEIGHBORS BUILD A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND STABILITY. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE JOB COACHING AND READINESS WORKSHOPS, COMPUTER TRAINING AND ACCESS, REFURBISHED TECHNOLOGY, ADULT LEARNING AND LITERACY CLASSES, ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION, CITIZENSHIP PREPARATION, AND ART ENRICHMENT FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN. VOLUNTEERS ARE THE FOUNDATION OF PRC'S MODEL, CONTRIBUTING TIME, SKILLS, AND CARE ALONGSIDE FINANCIAL DONORS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS. TOGETHER, THIS NETWORK EMBODIES PRC'S ENDURING COMMITMENT TO "NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS." AS PRC CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF SERVICE, WE REMAIN DEDICATED TO RESPONDING TO BASIC HUMAN NEEDS, PROMOTING DIGNITY AND JUSTICE, AND CREATING A FUTURE OF HOPE AND OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL RESIDENTS OF DUPAGE COUNTY.
