Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month was held in April 2024. Clinics and medical centers provide free head and neck cancer screenings and educational information for community members in locations throughout the USA and abroad. In 2024, HNCA grew its Ambassador program. Ambassadors are dedicated to educating the community-at-large about these cancers. Ambassadors are cancer patients, survivors and/or caregivers whose inspirational journeys give true meaning to what happens when you are diagnosed with cancer, during and post-treatment.(Continued on Schedule O)Accomplishments:The Alliance grew its peer-to-peer mentor program for patients and caregivers. The Head and Neck Cancer Alliance (Alliance) is proud to support a free online community for individuals and their loved ones who are facing oral, head and neck cancers. This online community offers peer-to-peer support in a safe environment so you can connect with others experiencing or who have experienced the diagnosis, treatments and outcomes. In 2024, HNCA provided patient assistance to patients through its financial card transportation program. Patients benefited from one-time $50 gas gift cards. Fundraisers and individual donors supported this program.The Alliance continued to offer its patient education and awareness program, including regular webinars, social media campaigns, the development of new educational materials, and presented the 5th annual Head & Neck Cancer Survivorship Symposium program in 2024, both online and in person. In addition, the Alliance held its 3rd Annual Move-a-Thon event to raise funds and awareness.
