DONATED MEDICAL & OTHER SUPPLIES: Participation in Corner of Loves short term missions soared in 2023 with many back-to-back weeks of hosting international teams, and new volunteers from all over the U.S.A. contributed to another successful year of collecting in-kind donations. $1,704,045 USD worth of medical, dental, optical, and other supplies were taken in with the help of team members, churches, schools, community organizations, and universities. Donation drives and other collection events were held on behalf of our ministry in more than 20 states and items were dropped off throughout the year at Corner of Love offices in Washington State and Texas. Prescription medicines were procured from area hospitals, pharmacies, and community clinics and more than 4,000 pair of eyeglasses were received. Dr. Suseela Narra of Issaquah, WA also provided a large shipment of medical equipment, anesthetic, and dermatological supplies. Approximately 19 tons of DONATED MEDICAL & OTHER SUPPLIES were transported by land and air to Latin America during the calendar year and used by the organization or distributed directly to refugees and impoverished people in 2023.

HEALTHCARE BRIGADES & PROGRAMS/MINISTRY: Near the Nicaragua border at Corner of Loves Latin American Headquarters, people affected by forced migration due to government repression and those experiencing extreme economic hardship and/or lack of medicine or treatment were able to access free medical, dental, and optical services at Corner of Loves Refugee Center. During all twelve months of 2023, needy families attended free clinics organized by Corner of Love, arriving on foot or via buses chartered by Corner of Love due to their lack of funds. General volunteers, doctors, nurses, dentists and other healthcare professionals offered a wide range of consults, exams, treatments, and other basic needs items like blankets, towels, groceries, shoes, clothing, and school supplies to more than 36,000 individuals currently residing in Costa Rica. Those who came in person also received hot lunch, snacks and beverages, as well as free prescription medications from Corner of Loves pharmacy.

CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT: In 2023, Corner of Love completed its expansion of U.S. installations in the greater Houston area after moving a 20-foot container and needed equipment from Washington State to Texas. Several events were held in Harris County to engage the community and introduce the public to Corner of Love. Local sports teams, golf and country clubs, and civic organizations were introduced to Corner of Love at fundraising/community events and encouraged to participate by going on a mission, providing for the organization, or collecting items. Other chapters in Vermont, Colorado, California, Washington State, and elsewhere also received visitation and/or support to encourage community involvement with Corner of Love.
