Education and Legal Empowerment: Pangea also authored a multi-organizational press release, organized a community press conference outside the Board of Supervisors' office in Redwood City, and coordinated with community members and coalition partners to give public comment during key Board of Supervisors meetings. Our advocacy pushed San Mateo County to preserve funding through the end of the 2025 fiscal year. Additionally, Pangea also worked to resource and protect communities. Pangea continues to provide free consultations, monthly asylum Know Your Rights workshops, and Healing Justice workshops. We have also offered 2 community teach-ins on the intersection of Palestinian liberation and migrant justice. In 2024, Pangea continued to hold a central role in Rapid Response Coverage around the Bay Area. We provide coverage across San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties.

Policy Advocacy: In 2024, we continue to support the hunger strikers in Mesa Verde and Golden State Annex detention centers by coordinating monthly solidarity actions outside ICE's San Francisco field office. These efforts were made to uplift the hunger strikers' demands such as: ending the Mesa Verde and Golden State Annex ICE detention contracts, reviewing cases for release, end solitary confinement, ensure adequate medical care, mental health care, food, end retaliation, and stop charging detainees to call family members, lawyers, and communities. Over five sessions, the FREE SF coalition trained a cohort of eight immigrant community members on narrative and advocacy tools to build collective safety that do not rely on punishment, such as policing and imprisonment. Sustained advocacy throughout 2024 to pressure District Attorney Jenkins to end their office's collusion with federal task forces that fast-track our immigrant neighbors to deportation. This occurred through a demand letter, speaking at community education events and press conferences, educating SF leaders, and supporting with messaging for partners to amplify this demand. Provided narrative training to statewide and local partners on how to defend against immigrant scapegoating for the fentanyl overdose crisis.
