CHATHAM MARCONI CONTINUED TO PARTNER WITH 7 LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS (BREWSTER, CHATHAM, EASTHAM, DENNIS-YARMOUTH, HARWICH, TRURO, AND WELLFLEET) TO OFFER ON SITE TECHSMART CLASSES. 571 CHILDREN IN THE 4TH GRADES CLASSES LEARNED ABOUT SOUND WAVES, RADIO/LIGHT WAVES, AND COMMUNICATIONS' SYSTEMS FROM AN EDUCATOR EMPLOYED BY CM. THIS WAS ALL MADE POSSIBLE THANKS TO GENEROSITY OF GRANTS RECEIVED FROM THE ROESSNER, SHIPLEY, AND TRACHSEL FAMILY FOUNDATIONS. FIELD TRIPS WERE ALSO OFFERED TO THE SCHOOLS SO THAT THE CHILDREN COULD VISIT THE MUSEUM AND ENGAGE IN HANDS ON EXPERIMENTS.

INTERACTIVE IPAD TOUCHSCREENS WERE ADDED TO THE GOLDEN AGE OF TRANSATLANTIC OCEAN LINERS EXHIBIT, AS A MEANS TO UPGRADE AND TEST THE ATTRACTION AND SUITABILITY OF APPLE IPADS TO REPLACE INTERACTIVE WINDOWS-BASED PCS IN NEW AND UPGRADED EXHIBITS.
