EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE - SOUTH COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES (SCCS) PROVIDES EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE SOUTH COUNTY AREA WHO ARE EXPERIENCING HARDSHIP DUE TO LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT, UNEXPECTED EXPENSES, OR OTHER DESTABILIZING EVENTS. ASSISTANCE INCLUDES HELP WITH UTILITIES, EVICTION PREVENTION, MEDICAL EXPENSES, CLOTHING, TRANSPORTATION AND THE HOLIDAYS. SCCS OPERATES A LOAVES AND FISHES PANTRY FOUR DAYS PER WEEK AND OFFERS A MI DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES KIOSK, SCANNER, AND NAVIGATOR FOR AREA RESIDENTS TO USE WHEN FILING FOR STATE BENEFITS.

SPECIAL EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON PROVIDING LEARNING EXPERIENCES WITH TRIPS AND HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES THAT STIMULATE THE MIND AND EXPAND THE VIEWS OF OUR MEMBERS.
