SOUP KITCHEN MIDLAND'S OPEN DOOR OPERATES A COMMUNITY SOUP KITCHEN FROM 11:30AM-1:30PM MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. THE SOUP KITCHEN PROVIDES A HOT WHOLESOME MEAL FOR OUR SHELTER GUESTS AND PEOPLE WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY THAT WOULD LIKE A MEAL. IN ADDITION TO THE LUNCH MEAL, SANDWICHES ARE AVAILABLE FOR TAKEOUT TO HELP SUPPLEMENT A NEEDED EVENING MEAL FOR THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY. THERE ARE NO FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR SOMEONE TO BENEFIT FROM THE SOUP KITCHEN MEALS AND ALL MEALS ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.

SHELTER MINISTRY MIDLAND'S OPEN DOOR PROVIDES TWO SHELTERS, ONE FOR MEN AND ONE FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN. OUR MEN'S SHELTER PROVIDES 19 BEDS, WITH THE CAPACITY FOR 23, AND OUR WOMEN AND CHILDREN'S SHELTER PROVIDES 28 BEDS, WITH THE CAPACITY FOR 31. EACH GUEST IS ASSISTED WITH FOOD, SHELTER, CLOTHING, AND PERSONALIZED CASE MANAGEMENT, PROVIDING SUPPORT AND COORDINATION WITH LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES, OTHER CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES, AND LOCAL CHURCHES WITH THE GOAL TO MOVE TOWARD LONG-TERM STABILITY. THE GUESTS EACH HAVE ACCESS TO A TELEPHONE, A COMPUTER WITH INTERNET CAPABILITIES FOR JOB SEARCHING, AND TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE.
