THE MARQUETTE CITY BAND (MCB) EXISTS TO PERFORM ARTISTICALLY ENGAGING CONCERT MUSIC FOR THE MARQUETTE COMMUNITY, TO CARRY ON THE PROUD TRADITION OF A COMMUNITY BAND THAT HAS EXISTED IN MARQUETTE FOR MORE THAN A CENTURY, TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS TO EXPERIENCE PLAYING IN AN ADVANCED MUSIC ENSEMBLE, AND TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITITY FOR ADULTS TO CONTINUE PERFORMING HIGH LEVEL TRADITIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY BAND REPETOIRE BEYOND THEIR HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE YEARS. PART III - 4A - PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS - CONCERT SERIES THE MCB PROVIDES FREE CONCERTS FOR THE MARQUETTE COMMUNITY TO ENJOY, PERFORMING A SERIES APPROXIMATELY SIX CONCERTS FOR THE PUBLIC EACH SUMMER, WITH ADDITIONAL GOODWILL CONCERTS FOR SPECIFIC COMMUNITY POPULATIONS, SUCH AS A VETERANS HOMES AND SUMMER CAMPS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. THESE TYPICALLY SEE APPROXIMATELY 300-500 ATTENDEES EACH PERFORMANCE. IN ADDITION, WE PERFORM TWO CONCERTS DURING THE WINTER SEASON, ALSO FREE FOR THE PUBLIC, WIT
