ANNUAL CONFERENCE: THE SOCIETY HOSTS THE NATIONAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE AND EXPO (NEC), WHICH IS THE LARGEST GATHERING OF GOVERNMENT MEETING PROFESSIONALS EACH YEAR. THE NEC IS DESIGNED TO ADVANCE THE KNOWLEDGE OF ATTENDEES AS WELL AS PROVIDE NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. THIS IN-PERSON ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS CANCELLED IN 2020 DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. INSTEAD, SGMP HELD A VIRTUAL CONFERENCE FOR ITS MEMBERS WITH NO REGISTRATION FEES CHARGED; IT WAS COMPLIMENTARY FOR MEMBERS.
