The Foundation is a collection of local funds given by individuals, corporations, and foundations to enhance and support the quality of life for all the people in the Mt. Pleasant area. In addition to managing charitable contributions on behalf of donors, the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation serves Isabella County through the awarding of grants to charitable organizations totaling $544,854. The Community Foundation's largest grants in 2024 were awarded to the MyMichigan Health Foundation, Friends of the Broadway, and R.I.S.E. Advocacy.

The endowment funds generating these scholarships were established by individuals, businesses, and organizations dedicated to helping local students pursue their educational goals. Each scholarship is unique and reflects the values and interests of those who established it. Most support high school students planning to attend an accredited college, university, or trade school in the fall.

MPACF serves the community through capacity building efforts and community leadership. Core initiatives include supporting area nonprofit leadership development through Catchafire support, Leadership Learning Lab, and Give Local Isabella initiatives. Additionally, the Foundation believes its role is to be leaders in creating a space where Isabella county is recognized and highlighted as a great place to live and work. We support initiatives like Epicenter and our Legacy Magazine as tools to share in the Mt Pleasant community.
