At Outreach East, our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure no neighbor in our community has to go without life's essentials. We are a non-denominational, community-based nonprofit serving families in Davison, Burton, Goodrich, Otisville, and parts of Flint, Michigan. When individuals and families face crisis-whether it's hunger, the threat of eviction, or a utility shut-off-Outreach East is there. We provide groceries, shelter, clothing, utility assistance, and other critical resources. By partnering with local agencies, churches, and organizations, we maximize every gift entrusted to us. Grounded in compassion and guided by the belief that caring for "the least of our neighbors" is both a responsibility and a privilege, Outreach East transforms generosity into hope.

Last year, Outreach East provided direct assistance to 8,562 adults and children, distributing more than 254,901 pounds of food and personal care items. We also supplied clothing and emergency monetary assistance for rent, utilities, medical needs, and other urgent expenses. Among the items provided were diapers (approximately 500 packages), Holiday Dinners (646), Christmas Gifts for children (over 300 children), baby food, school snacks, household items, back packs, back to school supplies, winter coats, boots, hats and gloves. Thanks to community generosity, we leveraged more than $314,000 in donated goods-all of which went directly to those in need. This incredible impact was made possible by over 14,000 volunteer hours, demonstrating how deeply our neighbors care for one another.
With support from United Way, we prevented utility shut-offs for 51 families, ensuring they had warmth, electricity, and water during times of crisis.
Also through a grant from United Way, we provided rent support for 25 families, helping them remain safely housed when eviction was a real threat.
