In 2025, Hope & Healing JAX delivered 138 trauma-informed training sessions to 3,192 participants across multiple regions of Florida, through both in-person and virtual delivery. Through a unified training program blending Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Positive Discipline, we equip the adults who touch the lives of children with the knowledge, skills, and mindset shifts needed to provide safe, nurturing, and trauma-responsive care.Training sessions served a wide range of audiences, including parents, foster and adoptive parents, mentors, and caregivers; K-12 educators, counselors, and school personnel, including faculty at faith-based private schools; mental health professionals; and early childhood and preschool educators. While some sessions were tailored to specific audiences or settings, the majority drew mixed groups and delivered an integrated curriculum addressing both the principles of TBRI and the Positive Discipline framework.TBRI, developed at Texas Christian University by Drs. Karyn Purvis and David Cross, is a research-backed and practice-based evidence (PBE) caregiving model built on attachment research and practical relationship tools. Positive Discipline provides complementary, research-supported strategies for building belonging and guiding behavior with kindness and firmness. Together, these frameworks form the foundation of all Hope & Healing JAX programming.Funding for the Hope & Healing JAX training program is drawn from performance-based grants from Kids Hope Alliance and Partnership for Child Health, grants from other community organizations, and contracts with school districts and other organizations that commission on-site training.
