Operational Review In 2023, GMC spearheaded efforts to identify opportunities to save money and improve effeciency in the delivery of services by the City of Milwaukee. With the city facing potentially catastrophic service reductions, the GMC engaged an outside consultant to identify options for savings, consolidation of service and other ways to introduce greater efficiency in city government. These efforts were part of a collaborative effort by the civic and public sectors to increase the level of state funding for local government and to enable the local units of government to generate additional local revenue. The efforts were successful and staved off - at least for the time being - dramatic cuts in public safety and other city services.
