Providing information and access to citizens about voting. Activities include conducting voter registration drives, welcoming new citizens, and speaking to school and community groups about voting procedures and ways to be an informed voter. Materials, such as pamphlets and bookmarks, are provided to volunteers to distribute during the voter registration drives. A monthly bulletin is published and sent via email to members and is also available on the website. Additionally, the League compiles and distributes Candidates Answers, which gives information about candidates who have filed for office and about ballot issues. The League seeks to broaden outreach to voting by providing registration information in Spanish, supporting outreach to residents of apartment complexes, and underwriting the cost of cab rides for citizens to obtain voter ID cards at the DMV.
