Funded by the United States Department of Agriculture USDA, UMOS's Food and Farmworker Relief FFWR program provides a single $600 direct relief payment to farm workers and meatpacking workers for expenses incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The relief payment eligibility period for frontline workers in farming activities and meatpacking is from January 27, 2020, through May 11, 2023, which ended the major disaster declaration related to COVID-19. The FFWR program serves workers in 23 states: Alabama, Arizona, Kentucky, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Louisiana, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin. To date, 96,192 participants have been served.

UMOS CONTINUED TO OPERATE PROGRAMS RELATED TO WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, WHICH OFFERS EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES TO UNDERSERVED, DIVERSE POPULATIONS. THE AGENCY ENTERED INTO ITS 25TH YEAR ADMINISTERING THE WISCONSIN WORKS W-2 PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES CASH ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES WHICH PARENTS PREPARE FOR AND LOOK FOR WORK. UMOS IS IN ITS 15TH YEAR OPERATING TRANSITIONAL JOBS PROGRAMS IS SEVERAL WI REGIONS. DURING FY 2024-2025, UMOS PLACED MORE THAN 1,000 INDIVIDUALS INTO JOBS AND ASSISTED MORE THAN 2,500 WITH TRAINING, EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES.
