CASE MANAGERS PROVIDE SENIOR ADULTS THE SUPPORT, RESOURCES, COMMUNITY SERVICES AND ADVOCACY THEY NEED TO SAFELY REMAIN IN THEIR OWN HOMES. NESCO ALSO PROVIDES CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR SPANISH SPEAKING SENIOR ADULTS THROUGHOUT DANE COUNTY. IN 2018, OVER 350 SENIOR ADULTS WERE SERVED THROUGH THE CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM.

THE NORTH/EASTSIDE SENIOR COALITION, INC. HAS A CULTURAL DIVERSITY PROGRAM WITH A PRIMARY GOAL TO REDUCE ISOLATION FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN AND LATINO SENIOR ADULTS. THE PROGRAM IDENTIFIES THE BARRIERS THAT PREVENT THESE SENIORS FROM ACCESSING COMMUNITY SERVICES AND ASSISTS IN REMOVING THESE OBSTACLES. PROGRAMS CENTER AROUND HEALTH EDUCATION, SAFETY AND SOCIALIZATION TO HELP BUILDING A SENSE OF COMMUNITY. AFRICAN AMERICAN AND LATINO SENIORS INCREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTH ISSUES RELATED TO AGING, COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND BECOME COMFORTABLE ATTENDING COMMUNITY EVENTS. ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN AND LATINO SENIOR ADULTS (60 YEARS AND OLDER) WHO RESIDE IN DANE COUNTY ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. LATINO PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED IN SPANISH ONLY. THIS PROGRAM COORDINATES WITH ALL DANE COUNTY FOCAL POINTS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES AND COORDINATION OF SERVICES TO AVOID DUPLICATION. THE NORTH/EASTSIDE SENIOR COALITION, INC. HAS BEEN ACCREDITED FOR ITS OUTSTANDING WORK BY THE WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION OF SENIOR CENTERS SINCE 2002 AND BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SENIOR CENTERS SINCE 2009. OVER 150 SENIORS PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM IN 2018.
