CMH HOUSING, INC. OPERATES A 20 UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING KNOWN AS RIDGEVIEW APARTMENTS, WHICH SERVES ELDERLY AND DISABLED RESIDENTS OF THE COMMUNITY. THIS APARTMENT UNIT IS SUBSIDIZED BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD), ENABLING ITS TENANTS TO INCUR RENT EXPENSE BASED ON THEIR INCOME LEVELS. THIS ALLOWS THE RESIDENTS TO LIVE IN A MORE COMFORTABLE SETTING THAN THEY OTHERWISE WOULD BE ABLE TO AFFORD ON THEIR OWN. THE RENT CALCULATION IS 30% OF THE TENANTS INCOME AFTER MEDICAL EXPENSES ARE DEDUCTED. FOR THE YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2024, $102,803 OR APPROXIMATELY 58% OF THE RENT INCOME RECEIVED WAS PAID BY HUD, MEANING TENANTS' RESPONSIBILITY AVERAGED APPROXIMATELY 42% OF THE RENT CHARGED. A LARGE POSITIVE IMPACT CMH HOUSING HAS ON THE COMMUNITY IS HAVING ALL 20 UNITS IN THE BUILDING HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE. THIS ALLOWS SEVERELY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS TO LIVE IN THE INDEPENDENT SETTING WITH ALL OF THE AMENITIES THEY NEED TO FUNCTION ON THEIR OWN OR WITH ASSISTANCE FROM CAREGIVERS. HALF OF THE BUILDING UNITS ARE TWO BEDROOM APARTMENTS WHICH HELP ACCOMMODATE INDIVIDUALS WITH LIVE IN CAREGIVERS. IN ADDITION TO THE APARTMENTS BEING SET UP FOR HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY, THE APARTMENT COMPLEX IS ALSO LOCATED ADJACENT TO ST. CLAIRE HOSPITAL, WHICH ALLOWS TENANTS EASY ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE COVERAGE WHEN IT IS REQUIRED. THE COMMUNITY ROOM IN RIDGEVIEW APARTMENTS IS A PLACE WHERE TENANTS CAN GATHER TO SOCIALIZE. PLANNED ACTIVITIES INCLUDE WEEKLY BINGO, QUARTERLY SOCIAL EVENTS AND AN ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY. TENANTS ALSO ORGANIZE THEIR OWN CARD GAMES AND USE THE COMMUNITY ROOM FOR PERSONAL PARTIES WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND OTHER RESIDENTS. CMH HOUSING PROVIDES AREA RESIDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY IN A COMFORTABLE SETTING AT AN AFFORDABLE COST, BASED ON THEIR INCOME LEVEL.
