Community Outreach- HOBT SHARES THE POWER OF PUPPETRY AND MASK PERFORMANCE WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS. Our community programming skyrocketed during the year, increasing more than 50% over the last year.We introduced Puppet Storytime on the first Saturday of the month, hosted by our amazing puppet librarian Chelly Beaver-Scott and her trusty sidekick Turnip the Dog, and art-making workshops on the third Saturday of each month. These free programs demonstrate our commitment to the Puppet Library (one of 3 in the U.S.!). We also expanded our programming to our youngest audiences through an eight week Toddler Puppet Story Time program. We partnered with Midtown Global Market to offer community workshops, made possible from a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. During those builds, attendees worked with artists to create large-scale puppets. During FY 2024, we had 13 community events with 2,500 workshop attendees.
