THE MESSENGER was part of the National New Play Networks Rolling World Premiere program, a national program to encourage three theaters to agree to produce a new play sequentially to give a strong voice to the playwright so that the work becomes familiar around the United States & increase the likelihood that it will become a part of theater genre. Six Points Theater also commissioned a new play in a co-commission with Theater J (in Washington D.C.) to be written by the playwright/actress Sun Mee Chomet.
