Gianna Homes provides programming in a home setting that is both a familiar and secure environment where individuals with memory loss can live and thrive. The 10 resident beds were 98% full during the 2021-2022 fiscal year. During the year we were able to partner with family members and adapt programming to the needs of the individuals as well as their families. Because of the decrease in cognitive abilities associated with dementia-particularly with Alzheimers, Lewy Body, Parkinsons and Frontal Lobe, our programming addresses the preservation of the whole person and supporting a lifestyle that is both meaningful and wholesome. We do this through ancillary services including physical therapy, music and movement therapy, art work activities, sensory activities, exercises, walks, outings, and daily routines that are flexible. Residents and family members are encouraged to participate in picking flowers and barbecues on the patio as well as family friendly events and holidays throughout the year. Some of the events held during the fiscal year include both thanksgiving and holiday dinners. Some resident families have expressed appreciation for the work of the staff by providing testimonials. Of those received, these two incorporate the work of the staff and appreciation for the type of care provided: We had toured many facilities and we seemed to leaning toward a more traditional facility...When we toured your home, I knew this was exactly where Dad should be. Your professionalism, compassion, and genuine concern for both Moms and Dads well-being confirmed our belief that this was the right place. And, we want to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff. It is a testament of a caring staff to see the true spirit and essence of a husband, father and grandfather so dearly loved. Alzheimers has stripped him of many characteristics, but it is through that spirit that we find the loving man now totally dependent on our loving him. With Gods grace we have found a place that not only recognizes this, but also honors it. God bless you all and the care you give right from your hearts!
