LAKESHORE PLAYERS' 72ND THEATRE SEASON LAKESHORE PLAYERS CREATED FOUR FULLY-PRODUCED THEATRE PRODUCTIONS. THESE THEATRE PRODUCTIONS PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES FOR 62 VOLUNTEER ACTORS TO PERFORM ONSTAGE. THESE SHOWS ALSO PROVIDED PAID OPPORTUNITIES FOR 57 ARTISTS TO SERVE ON CREATIVE TEAMS INCLUDING DIRECTORS, CHOREOGRAPHERS, BACKSTAGE CREW, DESIGNERS, STAGE MANAGERS, AND MUSICIANS. THE FOUR THEATRE SHOWS IN SEASON 72 SAW TOTAL AUDIENCES OF 10,819. THESE SHOWS ALSO HAD PERFORMANCES FEATURING ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES, INCLUDING OPEN CAPTIONING, AUDIO DESCRIPTION, AND ASL INTERPRETATION. TWO STAGED READINGS OF NEW WORKS WERE PRESENTED PROVIDING LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS THE CHANCE FOR LIVE FEEDBACK ON THEIR WORK. SEE SCHEDULE O FOR ADDITIONAL PROGRAM LANGUAGE.LAKESHORE PLAYERS ALSO PROVIDED SPACE IN OUR BLACK BOX THEATRE FOR THE CENTURY COLLEGE THEATRE PROGRAM TO PERFORM WHILE THEIR HOME THEATRE WAS BEING RENOVATED. OVER 600 AUDIENCE MEMBERS ATTENDED THE CENTURY COLLEGE PRODUCTIONS. CONCERTS AT THE HANIFL SERIESLAKESHORE PLAYERS REINVIGORATED ITS CONCERT SERIES, "CONCERTS AT THE HANIFL." THIS SERIES PROVIDED PAID OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL MUSICIANS TO PERFORM. THESE 20 CONCERT AND COMEDY EVENTS WERE PRESENTED TO AN AUDIENCE OF 3,411 WITH ACCESSIBLE PRICE POINTS. LAKESHORE ALSO HOSTED THREE OUTDOOR LAWN CONCERTS FOR 186 PATRONS IN THE SUMMER OF 2024. THESE OUTDOOR CONCERTS WERE OFFERED FOR A FREEWILL DONATION BY ATTENDEES. EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT LAKESHORE PLAYERS LAKESHORE PLAYERS WORKED IN RESIDENCE WITH MATOSKA IB WORLD SCHOOL TO PRODUCE THREE PLAYS WITH KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 5TH GRADE STUDENTS. LAKESHORE ALSO HOSTED ADULT PLAY-READING WORKSHOPS ONSITE. THE LAKESHORE PLAYERS SUMMER PROGRAM INCLUDED A THREE-WEEK CAMP WHEREBY STUDENTS WORKED TO PRESENT A MUSICAL SHOWCASE, AND A THREE-WEEK CAMP WHEREBY MIDDLE AND HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS CREATED THEIR OWN ORIGINAL PIECE OF THEATRE. LAKESHORE ALSO WORKED IN RESIDENCE WITH PHOENIX ALTERNATIVES, INC., A DAY CENTER FOR ADULTS WITH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DISABILITIES TO CREATE AND PRESENT AN ORIGINAL PLAY. THESE PROGRAMS SERVED 140 STUDENTS, EMPLOYED A DOZEN TEACHING ARTISTS, AND WERE SHARED WITH AUDIENCES NUMBERING 1,835.
