The YMCA operates year-round programming to accommodate the needs of the community. The YMCA encourages volunteer involvement and community input through the volunteer Board of Directors. The Charles City Family YMCA, as a human service organization, meets the needs of the community and is open to people of all ages, races, religions, and income levels. YMCA programs nurture the healthy development of children, encourage positive behavior with teens, and strengthen families - all of which result in our community and neighborhoods being safe and healthy places to live, work, and play. Programs are designed to meet the health and social service needs of the children, adults, and families who participate. All programs emphasize the development of positive values, encouraging moral and ethical behavior based on Christian principles.
