SUMMER READING PROGRAM - THE PAYMENT TO THE DAVENPORT PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM ALLOWS THE LIBRARY TO OFFER 391 DIFFERENT PROGRAMS WITH 5,174 ATTENDEES OF THE PROGRAMS. THOSE WHO REGISTERED FOR THE READING PROGRAM WERE 1,567. THIS WAS FOR CHILDREN, TEEN AND ADULTS DURING JUNE AND JULY. THE FOCUS OF THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM IS TO PROMOTE READING AMONG ALL AGES, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE SCHOOL AGE SO THAT THEY PRACTICE THE READING SKILLS THEY HAVE LEARNED.
