The Virginia Gay Hospital Health Care Foundation acquires and administers charitable gifts for the benefit of Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics.Continued on Schedule OThe annual Tree of Lights campaign is our primary fundraiser. The Foundation uses the funds it raises and receives to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, enhance facilities and develop special programs to help Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics remain in the forefront of medical care. The goal of the Foundation is to bring an ever-increasing quality of healthcare to the community. This past year, the Tree of Lights campaign raised $150,144 to support the purchase of Respiratory Therapy items - Glide Scope Go 2 Monitor, Nonin PalmSat Pulse Oximeters, EKG Cart, Nursing & Rehab Bariatric Beds and Bariatric Wheelchair, Acute Care televisions, Stryker Cub Crib, Therapy Ipads for geolocation, Environmental Services delivery vehicle, Administration sound system and video conferencing system, Clinics blood pressure cuffs and Quality Baby Anns for CPR Training. The Party in Pink 5K and Gifts of Hope Walking Challenge are fundraisers to support the Virginia Gay Hospital Gifts of Hope program. Gifts of Hope supports women's health providing access of care for mammography and women's health checks. If a person is diagnosed with breast cancer, they may access $2,500 to pay for medical expenses, no application required. Medical bills are presented for payment. These events raised $11,479 in fiscal year 2025.Reach Out and Read is a program in the Virginia Gay Clinics supporting childhood literacy. At each well child check, a provider will present the child with a free book and interact with the child on reading or looking through the pages. By the time the child is in school they will have a library of approximately 15 books. The program encourages parents to read with their children at home. Approximately 500 books are distributed each year. For fiscal year 2025, the Foundation raised $1,895 for this program.Benton County Community Health and Wellness Fair is provided through the efforts of Virginia Hospital Health Care Foundation each year. The Foundation organizes an event that highlights approximately 60 vendors providing awareness in areas of mental wellness, food and nutrition, financial literacy, access to medical care, emergency preparedness, early childhood education and health care access, insurance, arts and much more. Sponsorships of $1,650 were received during the tax year to support this event.
