THE MISSION OF SOUTHWEST CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING DBA EMPOWER: ABILITIES, IS TO REDUCE BARRIERS AND EMPOWER INDEPENDNET LIVING FOR ALL PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. THIS WORK IS CARRIED OUT THROUGH THE PROVISION OF A FULL RANGE OF INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES, ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY, DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, HOME MODIFICATIONS, AND ATTENDANT CARE SERVICES, ALL AIMED AT MAXIMIZING INDEPENDENCE. WE WORK TO REDUCE BARRIERS IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH ADVOCACY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO BOTH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC ENTITIES AND ADVOCATE FOR THE RIGHTS AND NEEDS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AT THE LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVEL.
