The Griot Museum of Black History presented the following activities: Visitors experienced the touring exhibit "Lift Every Voice," a collection of hooked rugs inspired by the linocuts of Elizabeth Catlett and created during the COVID-19 shutdown by women across North America. Our inaugural international exhibit "Terang'Art II" featured original art by five Senegalese and twelve St. Louis Artists, exposing both artists and visitors to an amazing cross-cultural experience of art and hospitality. Recently, Kwesi Essel-Blankson, an educator, author, and long-term tour guide at Cape Coast Castle in Ghana, enthralled over 100 visitors at an impromptu book signing accompanied by West African drumming, dancing and delicious Ghanaian cuisine. We rounded out the year with the annual celebration of the St. Louis Community Association's Holiday party here at The Griot.
