THE ASSOCIATION WAS ORGANIZED AS A RESULT OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI APPROVING LEGALIZED GAMBLING ON THE RIVERBOATS IN THE STATE OF MISSOURI. TO THAT END, THE ASSOCIATION REPRESENTS THE 13 RIVERBOAT CASINOS LICENSED TO OPERATE IN THE STATE OF MISSOURI AND STRIVES TO ASSURE THAT THE INTEREST OF THE GAMING INDUSTRY ARE NOT JEOPARDIZED BY THE REGULATING BODY OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI OR BY THE ACTIONS OF THE MISSOURI GENERAL ASSEMBLY. THE ASSOCIATION CONTINUES TO WORK TO EDUCATE OUR YOUTH THROUGH THE PROJECT 21 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM OF THE DANGERS OF UNDERAGE GAMBLING. THE ASSOCIATION IS VERY ACTIVE IN THE MISSOURI ALLIANCE TO CURB PROBLEM GAMBLING AND FUNDS THE BETS OFF HOTLINE WHICH PROVIDES COUNSELING SERVICES TO THOSE SEEKING ASSISTANCE WITH A GAMBLING PROBLEM.
