Education: The Green Center supports the scout badge program, provided hands-on experiences for 2,200 students in K-8, while supporting a vegetable garden program for six local elementary schools, and provides various summer day camps. The Green Center also instituted an early learning childhood nature play and story telling program that served 220 children aged three to eight. In addition to these programs the Green Center offers educational experiences geared toward adults. The Green Center hosts a quarterly speaker series inviting various professionals to discuss how they connect to nature. The educational staff provides hands-on professional development seminars in ecology, inquiry based methodologies and arts integration for local teachers and informal educators.
