In 2021 A.I.M by Kyle Abraham had a prolific span of artistic activity devoted to the creation and development of new works. This included a 4-week pod residency at Kaatsbaan Cultural Park and the Lumberyard Center for Film and Performing Arts in upstate New York. The residency allowed Artistic Director Kyle Abraham and the dancers the opportunity to gather safely and rehearse as a full companythe first time since the onset of the pandemic. While in residency, the company workshopped and teched six new works to add to the companys current repertory including evening-length works An Untitled Love and Requiem: Fire in the Air of the Earth, both choreographed by Artistic Director Kyle Abraham. Due to the substantial creation and production time lost in 2020, it was imperative that these works were rehearsed to ensure proper lighting, costuming, and staging for their pending premieres.
