For the year ended August 31, 2025, 95 AmeriCorps Promise Fellows devoted a term of service responding to the chronic attendance crisis in Minnesota by providing evidence-based support to young people across urban, suburban, and rural communities. Promise Fellows increases the capacity of schools and community organizations by using an array of research-based strategies; tracking attendance and work completion, monitoring student engagement, and supporting academic growth through caring adult interventions, service and service-learning opportunities, and out-of-school- time supports. During the program year, 2064 students were served by Promise Fellows, with 60% of the students achieving increased school attendance. 23 organizations received capacity building services from our Groundwork Fellow program, an AmeriCorps program providing indirect service and support to youth development nonprofits and local government units. A total of 20 Groundwork Fellows served 1598 students through their service. 51 AmeriCorps members served students during the summer through Breakthrough Twin Cities, supporting students at 3 sites throughout the metro area.

The Minnesota Youth Council ("MYC") amplifies the voice and power of youth, creating opportunities for young people to actively influence decisions that directly impact their lives. Participants learn and practice civic skills that promote civil discourse and strengthen our local and statewide democratic systems. The MYC serves as liaison between young people, youth-led and youth-serving organizations, and state policymakers and the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. They are the statutorily-created "voice of youth" in Minnesota and expand opportunities for all young people in Minnesota to have their voices heard and input considered. Throughout the program year, all volunteers and members combined contributed over 125,000 hours of service.
