In 2024, February Star Sanctuary reached a remarkable milestone in its mission to rescue and rehome off-the-track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs) and other animals in need. With a goal of placing at least 55 horses and 309 cats into loving homes, the sanctuary exceeded expectationsadopting out 64 horses and 345 cats and kittens. In addition, they performed 205 Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) procedures for community cats in Frederick County, MD, helping to control the stray population humanely. Throughout the year, several community-based programs were offered to support both animals and people, furthering the sanctuarys impact and strengthening the human-animal bond.
