TUTORING ENGLISH TO FAMILIES. GEOVISIONS SENDS SHORT-TERM TUTORS ABROAD TO LIVE WITH FAMILIES AND TUTOR ENGLISH TO THE CHILDREN AND PARENTS. TUTORS VOLUNTEER FOR 1, 2 OR 3 MONTH ASSIGNMENTS. THEY LIVE WITH FAMILIES AND EMBRACE LOCAL CULTURE. THE OUTCOMES ARE THAT CHILDREN DO BETTER IN SCHOOL IN THEIR ENGLISH CLASSES AND THE ABILITY TO SPEAK AND READ ENGLISH IMPROVES. IN MANY CASES AT LEAST ONE PARENT CAN OBTAIN A RAISE OR BETTER JOB. MANY OF THESE FAMILIES WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD THIS ONE ON ONE LEARNING AND MOST OF THEM LIVE IN VERY RURAL AREAS OF JORDAN, TURKEY, THAILAND, BRAZIL, CHILE AND ECUADOR.

THESE VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE CARE FOR UP TO 6 MONTHS AND ALSO TRAINS PARENTS, MOSTLY MOTHERS, ON THE CARE AND FEEDING OF THEIR CHILDREN. EDUCATION ISSUES ARE SOLVED MAKING CHILDREN THAT ARE SCHOOL AGED ATTEND SCHOOL DAILY AND COMPLETING HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT WHEN CHILDREN LEARN ENGLISH, THEY ARE ABLE TO OBTAIN BETTER JOBS, WHICH ALSO POSITIVELY IMPACTS THE FAMILY. IT IS ALSO SHOWN THAT THESE CHILDREN STAND A BETTER CHANCE OF BEING ADMITTED TO HIGHER EDUCATION AND HAVING A MUCH BETTER CHANCE OF BEING ADMITTED TO HIGHER EDUCATION AND HAVING A MUCH BETTER CHANCE AT A FUTURE THAT WILL GET THEM OUT OF POVERTY BUT ALSO OBTAINING SKILLS TO GIVE BACK TO THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY.
