Mission

BIMBAM, FORMERLY G-DCAST, IS A CALIFORNIA NONPROFIT NEW MEDIA COMPANY WHOSE GOAL IS TO RAISE BASIC JEWISH LITERACY, AND CREATE POSITIVE ATTITUDES ABOUT JEWISH VALUES AND BEHAVIORS. We help curious young adults see the relevance of Judaism in their everyday lives with our extensive Judaism 101 video series which gives young adults the tools they need to engage in practice around the holidays and answer basic Jewish questions. Program Service Accomplishments

Program 1

Educators: In July 2018, BimBam launched a free online professional development course for Jewish educators to learn stop motion animation. The course is self-paced and takes educators step-by-step through the stop motion animation process, from writing scripts, creating props and recording quality audio. The course also included free downloadable resources to help educators bring their new skills into the classroom. By the end of 2018, over 1,200 Jewish educators had signed up for the course.

Program 2

Shaboom! program for families with young children: Launched 4 new videos including a full length Rosh Hashanah Shaboom! Special, two mini Jewish folktale episodes (Raise the Roof and We Are Family), and a Story Time for Kids: A Jewish Teaching about the Angel Lailah. Watch time (cumulative number of minutes viewers spent watching this content) for the series exceeded 3.4 million minutes in 2018, growth over 73%!

Judaism 101 program for curious adults: Launched 6 major new videos: including What is Shabbat?, What is a Mitzvah?, Counting the Omer, Tisha B'Av, History of Modern Hebrew, and What is Hasidic...
