Our Backfarms program grew and distributed 13,785 pounds of fresh vegetables in the backyards of44 senior citizens throughout the Salt Lake valley. Our fruitshare program harvested 26,000 points of fruit from fruit trees located in community members backyards. This fruit was rescued from a trip to the landfill and was instead distributed to feed food insecure families in our community. We hosted 280 volunteers at our fruit harvests who volunteered 700 hours of their time. In exchange they learned about basic fruit tree care and the importance of fresh nutritious food and forged a deep connection to their community.
