Our Take Action LA Program raised awareness about early identification and prevention of mental illness and SUDs in youth. The interactive conference educated teachers, parents, clinicians and youth on early warning signs of mental illness and provided information on local resources for treatment and prevention options. Our staff organized breakout groups for attendees to discuss suicide, incarceration, school failure, homelessness and removal of children from homes. Spanish speakers and teens had their own groups.
