THE MSAC CONDUCTS PEER-REVIEW OF RESEARCH APPLICATIONS, SETS THE DIRECTION OF RESEARCH AND MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD FOR FUNDING RESEARCH. THE FOUNDATION ALSO TEAMED UP WITH DYSTONIA MEDICAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION (DMRF) TO PROVIDE GRANTS TO ADVANCE RESEARCH TOWARD IMPROVED DYSTONIA TREATMENT OPTIONS AND ULTIMATELY A CURE. IN 2022, THE FOUNDATION FUNDED THREE GRANTS (1)"GENETIC MODIFIERS OF PENETRANCE IN DYTI DYSTONIA", AND (2) "STRIATAL MICROCIRCUIT DEFECTS IN DYTI DYSTONIA AND (3) DYSTONIA MEDICAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION.
