Our Thanksgiving outreach totals extended to well over a thousand families. The community donated turkeys so each family could cook a whole turkey or chicken using their traditional recipes. Turkeys, fresh produce and all the fixings went into the food bag delivery. Families were able to host a full holiday meal with plenty of leftovers to share long after the holiday. We assisted over 600 families this Easter. We learned cereal was the most requested item in the springtime. We collected over 1200 boxes of cereal. Those boxes went into the meal bags as well as fresh produce, dry milk and plenty of fixings so the families could enjoy family meals for Easter and Springtime. Weve identified that some families cant celebrate birthdays due to financial constraints, leading us to introduce a cake pan delivery initiative. Cake mix is included, and the cake is baked with soda instead of eggs and oil.
