THE STAFF OF TEXAS ACADEMY 4 PROVIDES PROGRAM SERVICES ON EACH SCHOOL CAMPUS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY MONTHLY. 3,000 FOURTH-GRADE STUDENTS WERE SERVED. THE 4TH GRADE PROGRAM INCREASED BY 5 SCHOOLS. LONG TERM, THE ORGANIZATION HAS PLANS TO CONTINUE ITS EXPANSION INTO URBAN SCHOOLS IN DALLAS AND FORT WORTH AND SURROUNDING AREAS, AUSTIN,MEMPHIS, TN AND BEYOND. TEXAS ACADEMY 4 RECEIVES DONATED SERVICES, MATERIALS, AND FACILITIES WHICH ARE SIGNIFICANT TO THE OPERATION OF THIS PROGRAM SERVICE.

WE OFFER WORKSHOPS THAT START WITH PARENTING AND EXPAND TO OTHER TOPICS SUCH AS FINANCIAL LITERACY, LEADERSHIP, ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE, AND OTHER TOPICS TARGETED TO THE SPECIFIC COMMUNITY'S NEEDS.THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO EQUIP MEMBERS WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS THEY NEED. LEADERS 5 HELPS FIRST GRADERS WITH THEIR READING SKILLS WHILE PROVIDING 5TH GRADERS LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES. WE ENGAGED ABOUT 1,800 FIRST GRADERS IN READING WHILE PROVIDING A MENTORING/TUTORING OPPORTUNITY FOR APPROXIMATELY 1,800 5TH GRADE STUDENTS WHO WERE ABLE TO PUT INTO PRACTICE THE LEADERSHIOP PRINCIPLES THEY LEARNED IN 4TH GRADE. IN ADDITION, 5TH GRADERS WORKED TOGETHER TO DO SERVICE PROJECTS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES POSITVELY IMPACTING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. THE PROGRAM MEETS ONCE A MONTH DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR FOR 90 MINUTES.
