SAMARITAN HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER, INC. IS A CHRIST-CENTERED FAMILY MEDICAL INTEGRATED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINIC PROVIDING AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE AND COUNSELING FOR UNINSURED AND UNDER INSURED MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN LIVING IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA AND BEYOND. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO COME FOR CARE, AND SMALL FEES FOR SERVICE ARE CHARGED. NO INSURANCE IS REQUIRED OR BILLED. THESE FEES MAKE UP APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE OPERATING BUDGET WITH THE REMAINDER COMING FROM GRANTS AND DONATIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS, CHURCHES, SMALL BUSINESSES, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND FOUNDATIONS. THE CENTER OPENED IN NOVEMBER 2014 WITH ONE NURSE PRACTITIONER AND ONE FRONT OFFICE STAFF MEMBER. THE FIRST WEEK OF OPERATION, 40 UNINSURED PATIENTS BECAME PART OF THE PATIENT BASE AND RECEIVED CARE. SAMARITAN NOW HAS A STAFF OF THREE FULL-TIME AND ONE PART-TIME NURSE PRACTITIONERS, ONE FULL-TIME MENTAL HEALTH/CLINICAL PASTORAL COUNSELOR, ONE SOCIAL WORKER, TWO MEDICAL ASSISTANTS, FRONT OFFICE STAFF, AND A BOOKKEEPER. SAMARITAN PROVIDES SERVICES TO OVER 9,000 MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN.
