Every Tuesday and Wednesday, hundreds of pounds of free groceries are donated to The Torch from Trader Joe's in Michigan. These groceries are supplemented with groceries purchased by Torch volunteers. Volunteers pick up the groceries, and bring them to 131 Mill St, Fowlerville, MI, where they are sorted for distribution. They are all given away and distributed to people who have food insecurities every Wednesday of the year. Between 150-200 families receive groceries each week. In Los Angeles County, California, volunteers pick groceries up from three different Trader Joe's locations. They are then driven to neighborhoods where there are people in need and food giveaways. People with food insecurities are able to pick the groceries up for free. They are serving between 250-300 families each week. This happens in Michigan and California year round.
