In 2024 Badass Animal Rescue rescued and rehabilitated 146 dogs cared for 200 dogs and placed 163 dogs in their forever homes. The dogs that are rescued stay in loving foster homes in both the Southern states and upon arrival in New York City. Prior to adoption the dogs are fully vetted which includes spay neuter vaccinations and preventives. In addition to the core adoption program Badass Animal Rescue has 4 special population programs for senior dogs heartworm-positive dogs behavior dogs and dogs with major medical needs. In 2024 11 of the 146 dogs rescued were senior animals that received special care and fostering. Over the course of 2024 9 seniors were placed in loving homes. The rescue treated 45 dogs for heartworm disease which is a very common disease in the warmer southern states and can be deadly if left untreated. Additionally there were 25 dogs that required major medical treatment in 2024 including emergency surgery cancer and allergy treatments as well as other major surgeries and treatments. Dogs who fall into one of these programs were cared for by Badass Animal Rescue through our foster program where specially-trained fosters care for these dogs through surgery and physical therapy.
