medical and supportive care for pets includes free or low cost spay/neuter programs, foster care supplies & support, plus heart worm treatments , diagnostics and major medical care for individual pet residents in the shelter, feral cat spay/neuter programs and kitten care programs. we provide pet medications, supplies and equipment as requested by the veterinary staff of the Citrus County FL Animal Shelter. assistance may also be provided to community residents whose pets require urgent medical care that might otherwise result in surrender to the Shelter.

enrichment activities include providing safe,outdoor exercise areas, off-site community walks and kennel comforts, such as beds, toys, blankets, treats, etc. for pets with major behavioral issues, we will bring in professional trainers, always mandating kindness and treats during training ! our efforts reduce pet stress and promote healthy behavior while animals await adoption. volunteers also assist with enrichment programs & activities that enhance quality of life for shelter animals.
