Early Detection Service and Prevention Education: HCB2 continues to expand their medical center partnerships to include 17 free clinic and community health center sites in 2025. HCB2 funds colorectal cancer screening to medically underserved and uninsured individuals across Virginia. HCB2 purchases FIT screening kits for patients and testing strips for medical staff to facilitate the screening of patients. In addition, gift cards are distributed to patients who return their completed FIT kits in a timely manner. Educational resources for clinics and their patients are also provided as well as staff training and technical support. Over 12,200 patients have been screened on time for colorectal cancer since the programs inception in 2017.

Colon Health Education and Support Services: HCB2 continues to provide education and resources to all ages through both in-person and virtual events in partnership with community groups, employers, and high school students. The 18 members of the Junior Board of high school students have reached over 25,000 peers, parents, and teachers through their on campus initiatives. Tens of thousands have been educated either directly or virtually through our Can We Talk? presentations and appearances with our popular and entertaining large inflatable colon and Potty Plinko game. Colorectal cancer is now the #1 cause of cancer-related death in people under age 50, and HCB2 believes providing various educational resources to engage even the younger community in a deeper level of conversation about colon health will move people from awareness to action and save lives.

Reaching High Risk Communities: HCB2 Community Screening initiatives allow us to reach members in high risk communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia. By partnering with the local organizations in these areas, HCB2 offers education and screening services during community health events. Virginia has two locations which have been identified as national hot spots for colorectal cancer incidence and mortality. HCB2s START program, Screening The AT Risk Together, and their colonoscopy stipend program, was created to bridge resources within these areas and offer services to directly address the need to increase education and increase screening rates among high risk community groups.
