Mission

PROSPECTS, OPPORTUNITY AND ENRICHMENT, INC. (POE), THE 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT OPERATING THE PROSPECTOR, IS DEDICATED TO CREATING COMPETITIVE AND INCLUSIVE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. WHILE WE'RE KNOWN FOR CREATING AN UNPARALLELED MOVIEGOING EXPERIENCE, OUR IMPACT GOES BEYOND WHAT YOU'D EXPECT FROM A FIRST-RUN MOVIE THEATER IN RIDGEFIELD, CT. IN ADDITION TO WELCOMING OVER 850,000 MOVIEGOERS, WE CREATE GOURMET POPCORN IN OUR COMMERCIAL KITCHEN AND SHIP IT NATIONWIDE, OUR PRODUCTION TEAM HAS WRITTEN AND FILMED VIDEOS GARNERING MORE THAN 17,000,000 VIEWS, AND OUR SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAM EDUCATES THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS EVERY YEAR ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF OUR MISSION. THROUGH OUR SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS, VIDEO PRODUCTIONS, AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS, WE SHOW OTHER EMPLOYERS THAT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES CAN EXCEL IN JOBS THAT REQUIRE IN-DEMAND SKILL SETS; DISPROVING THE STEREOTYPE THAT OPPORTUNITIES CAN ONLY BE MENIAL. SHARING OUR MODEL WITH EMPLOYERS AND THE WORLD IS ESSENTIAL TO ADDRESS THE FACT THAT NEARLY 80% OF AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES STILL DO NOT HAVE A JOB. ALL OF OUR EMPLOYEES ARE KNOWN AS PROSPECTS, AND 75% OF US SELF-IDENTIFY WITH A DISABILITY.
