Neighborhood by neighborhood, this group of parents mobilizes Phoenix residents to win vital city resources and services for their communities. Barrios al Poder has also hosted many Know Your Rights events and educational workshops on local city government and budget process. Barrios is growing the number of volunteers and developing new leaders who are learning to organize for the change they want to see. In 2018, Barrios laid the groundwork for the Pueblos Budget Campaign after surveying over 10,000 community members in Phoenix. The Pueblos Budget Campaign is a community led initiative to invest tax-payer dollars into life affirming resources for working class neighborhoods to live healthy and joyous lives.
